The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says that the air quality levels in Muscatine are unsafe.

Levels of fine particulate and sulfur dioxide pollution levels were measured Monday morning that exceeded EPA health thresholds.

The DNR is recommending that people living near Garfield School who have respiratory or heart diseases, and children and the elderly should limit how long they are outside until conditions improve.

The air quality is expected to improve by tomorrow morning as the wind direction shifts.
