It
been a long day, and could be an even longer night for teachers and school
board members out in Dixon.
It's
the third meeting the board and union has had since the strike began Thursday.
The
biggest sticking point in all this is money.
Teachers
say they deserve a 3.75% raise, but during negotiations Thursday, the board
offered a 1% raise, plus teachers would have to pay for their own health
insurance.
Teachers
rejected the offer.
The
two sides met again Friday, making a joint statement saying they're continuing
to be productive in their talks.
And
the meeting Sunday has been going on since 1 p.m.
No
word yet on if school is back in session for Dixon students Monday.
But the districts
website says whenever a settlement is reached, the cutoff time for decided
whether there will be school or not, is 5am.
One
person involved in the negotiations told CBS4 there's still a lot to discuss.
