A local organization raised money for not one, but two charities.
"We asked out club members to recommend organization that they were connected to or felt special about or thought were good causes, and those two rose to the top," said Corrine Brown of the Mississippi Valley Dance Association.
The Mississippi Valley Dance Association raised 500 dollars each for the local outposts of the Red Cross and the Wounded Warriors Project.
The Red Cross uses the money to help displaced families after crisis hits.
And the Wounded Warrior Project?
"The money will go toward taking care of different projects that the soldiers have going on," said Major David Cruse of the Warrior Transition Unit at the Rock Island Arsenal.
The Mississippi Valley Dance Association raised the money by donations from club members.
