Three people were killed Thursday morning when their car hit a school bus near Louisa Muscatine High School.
The accident happened about 7:20 as the bus was just leaving to begin its route. No students were on board.
A Nissan Sentra driving north on Highway 61 lost control and crossed the center line, striking the bus. Iowa State Patrol said the road was covered in ice at the time of the accident.
The driver of the bus was taken to Muscatine Hospital for treatment.
