Was Credit Island Home of Historic Battle?

We could soon figure out if Davenport was the site of an historic battle.

City Council members could decide Tuesday night whether or not to approve a contract for an archeological survey on Credit Island.

The contract is for about $46,000 and would go to Commonwealth Cultural Resources Group Inc.

If approved, the group will try and figure out if a battle was fought there during the War of 1812.
