Police are investigating the robbery of the Citizens State Bank, 101 W. Broadway, Oxford Junction,
Iowa.
At approximately 8:55 a.m. this morning, a lone white male
entered the bank with a pistol in his hand. The subject announced the robbery
and made his way behind the teller counter. The victim tellers complied with the
demand and gave the subject an undisclosed amount of money.
The subject departed the bank and entered the driver's side
of a blue and silver, regular cab, full sized pickup truck which was parked just
outside the front door. The truck was last seen traveling northbound out of town
on Highway 136.
Surveillance photos and witness descriptions depict the
subject as follows: white male, 5'10" to 6' tall, heavy build, brown eyes,
wearing a gray or blue hooded sweatshirt, ski cap, black gloves, and carrying a
black semi automatic pistol. The subject also had a bushy black beard which may,
or may not have been, fake.
The robbery is being investigated by the FBI and the Jones
County Sheriff's Office.
