Are budget cuts making Iowa roads more dangerous?

That's the question after the head of the Iowa State Troopers Association met with legislators on Tuesday.

He said budget cuts have thinned ranks so much, that many counties don't have a single trooper on duty overnight.

Iowa state troopers are asking the Governor to allocate funding to hire an additional 87 troopers.

Right now, Branstad's budget does not include *any* extra funding.
