Iowa Governor Terry Branstad is taking his pledge to not expand Medicaid, to Washington.
Governor Branstad met with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today.
Branstad says expanding Medicaid is too expensive for the state. But he told Sebelius he does want a federal waiver to continue IowaCare, a health care program that provides limited benefits to low-income adults.
Branstad's opponents say expanding Medicaid would provide more services to a larger number of people.
