Historic Hotel & Restaurant to Re-Open in March

An historic hotel and restaurant in Maquoketa is getting new life.

A Davenport man has bought the 133-year-old Decker Hotel and Restaurant earlier this month, and has been working on renovations.

The hotel, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, had been owned by a credit union after the previous owners ran into financial problems.

The new owner hopes to re-open sometime next month.
