A Rock Island elementary school is raising the bar when it comes to test scores.
Longfellow Liberal Arts got an academic improvement award for their test scores last year.
That's just a week before their standardized testing begins this year.
And the kids had an assembly today, to do a little celebrating.
"They work hard all year long to take this two day exam and they showed how much learning actually goes on here at Longfellow and throughout our district," said Rock Island School District Superintendent Michael Oberhaus.
Longfellow is one of just 81 schools in Illinois that received the award this year.
