Cambridge, IL man faces child porn charges

A federal grand jury has charged Steven Ford, 27, of Cambridge, IL with making and having child pornography. He was previously arrested and charged by federal criminal complaint in July. Ford has been in federal custody since then. He requested a psych exam, but the court found him mentally competent and remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

The crimes allegedly happened in back in June and July. Authorities seized his computer, cell phone and other equipment.

If convicted, Ford faces 15 to 30 years for each of his 2 counts of making child porn. He faces 20 years for having child porn.
