Watchtower Plaza officially gets a new owner

Signed, sealed, delivered. The city of Rock Island now owns Watchtower Plaza. The city has been signing paper work all this week and just finished up on Wednesday.

Rock Island plans on leasing the land off 11th Street out to a new Wal-Mart. City leaders said they're working with businesses currently in the plaza, to relocate.

Mayor Dennis Pauley said the Supercenter could be open by Christmas.
