The ag industry has never been stronger, that's according to today's QC Economic Forecast, and it has local businesses excited about the future.
Tuesday the QC Chamber of Commerce hosted it's annual Economic Forecast: this years main message, the farm sector is booming. And for Aaron Tennant, it means good news.
"For my business in particular it's good because as a trucking company serving the agricultural markets, if those markets are booming we're going to do well."
Aaron is the President and CEO of Tennant Truck Lines and says Tuesday's forecast by economist Dr. J.B. Penn could change up the business plan.
"We've been in growth mode for a few years and we were thinking about plateauing a little bit but if things continue to grow we'll continue to expand and create more jobs."
Penn announced that despite the drought, net cash farm income was at a record breaking high in 2012.
Also mentioned in the forecast: in the past decade the QC average wage increased 13%.
