It was closing time Sunday for one Davenport hot spot. Symposium Cafe closed its doors for good Sunday afternoon.
CBS4 has learned the popular café is leaving to make way for a new Red Ginger restaurant.
Unlike its current location on Middle Road in Bettendorf which tailors to Japanese food, the new Red Ginger will focus as a fine Chinese restaurant.
But customers say they're sad to see the Symposium Café go.
"It's always been pretty popular," says Benjamin Gerwe. "My wife and her business partner, they come here quite a bit."
Henry Jiang, the Red Ginger manager, says the new restaurant is expected to open in June or July.
