Elephants at the Niabi Zoo now have some extra leg room.
The zoo staff cleared out more space for the elephant exhibit, so the pachyderms have three times the amount of space to roam around.
The zoo director says they pride themselves on always putting the welfare of the animals first.
"Not only did we give them more space which is always nice. We also improved the viewing of the animals a lot too. We put in some new fencing that's much easier to take photos through. So you'll have some nice photos to take home with you," says Marc Heinzman, Niabi Zoo Director.
The Niabi Zoo opens for the season March 11th.
