Thursday evening the Scott County Board of Supervisors will present their plans for the 2014 budget.
The county board has many goals for the new year, including a courthouse renovation project, a new digital financial system, and a study on vehicles.
Scott County Board Chair Larry Minard told us that taxpayer's don't need to worry; they're taking their time with all these costly projects, and hope to bring property taxes down at the same time.
"They will be done in kind of a measured, thoughtful way that has the least impact upon property taxes," said Minard.
Board leaders say another issue they have to deal with is funding mental health care with the new state changes. Mental health care in Iowa will soon be regionalized.
Tonight the public hearing on the budget will be at 5:30PM at the Scott County Administrative Center.
