The mayor seat is set to open up in Rock Island this year, and Tuesday night, David Levin announced he's running again.

Four years ago the race between Dennis Pauley and Levin was so close it came down to drawing a name out of a hat.

Now, Levin is trying his luck again.

Tuesday night, family and friends got together to eat chili and kick off his campaign.

Levin says he has big plans for the city.

"Yes we are all for sales tax and big box retail.  But, our vision is to create sustainability of the people we employ and the residents we have in our city in Rock Island."

The election will be held in April.
