Banning certain weapons is not the answer to gun control. That's the message from the Illinois Sheriff's Association.
At their winter training conference in Springfield, the sheriff's voted unanimously not to support a House bill which would ban certain weapons.
They say they believe it's their duty to uphold the second amendment, and that rational law abiding citizens are not the problem.
They say the focus needs to be on the lack of mental health services in our country.
