City of Davenport Work Week June
2013 Volunteer Opportunities Informational Meeting
In August
2012, the City of Davenport announced the
kickoff of the first ever Group Cares Home Repair Workcamp coming to Davenport during the
summer of 2013. As many as 70 local
residents will benefit from the work of a projected 400 adult and teenage
volunteers at the Davenport Work Week, coming to Davenport the last week of June 2013.
The City
is still looking for interested individuals, organizations, companies and
groups to volunteer with various elements of the Work Week prior, during and
after the Work Week. The City will be hosting Volunteer Opportunity Community
Meetings on Tuesday, February 12th at 2PM and 5:30PM for individuals
to learn more about the Work Week and how they can join in volunteer
efforts. There are a variety of
opportunities for individuals; everything from preparing baked goods for the
volunteers to assisting with Work Week efforts.
