Quad Citians are running to build a better community. It's all part of the nonprofit organization ‘Live Uncommon'. It's a team of people who raise money for different charities all over the Quad cities then run in area races throughout the year.
Last year, they raised more than $17,000 through ten different racing events.
Today, they handed off big bucks to the Komen QC Race for the Cure and other charities.
The president says it's all about bringing people together for a good cause.
"A piece of what we try to accomplish is eliminating community boundaries, so it's all one team, it's all one family, and we're all on the same team," says Michelle Solis Russell, President, Live Uncommon.
This year the live uncommon race series will include not just running and road events, but also a charity tennis tournament and golf outing.
