A Davenport man is charged with trying to hire a hit man to kill a family member.
Eric Weeks, 36, was an inmate in the Scott County Jail when deputies say he tried to get an undercover detective to commit murder and arson against a family member.
Weeks allegedly offered to pay the detective to kill the family member to keep them from testifying against him.
Weeks is charged with Solicitation to Commit Murder, Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony (Murder), and Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony (Arson).
With these new charges Weeks' bond has been raised to $100,000.
Weeks had originally been in the Scott County Jail on charges of Incest, Enticing a Child, and Sex Abuse.
