Drop, cover, and hold on. That's what two million students across the Midwest did today.
It's all part of the great central shakeout.
Students in nine states are learning how to be ready in case of an earthquake.
The drill teaches kids to get under their desks, cover their heads and hold on.
Students at the Rock Island Center for Math and Science say after taking part in the drill, they feel confident knowing what to do.
"We just did this and now I actually feel like safe doing it now because I think this drill is going to actually protect us," says Jacksen Hansen, 4th Grader, RI Center for Math and Science.
Students weren't the only ones preparing for a shake out.
More than 400,000 Illinois residents, businesses and schools registered to take part in the drill.
