Newly elected congresswoman Cheri Bustos introduced her first bill today.
The Government Waste Reduction Act focuses on cutting down duplicative services and rooting out waste in government, while preserving crucial services and programs.
For example, the federal government has 47 job training programs, 44 of which overlap.
Bustos says consolidating overlapping programs, can save tens of billions of dollars without impacting program quality.
