Financial Aid Awareness Month in Illinois

February is Financial Aid Awareness Month, and Illinois officials are urging parents of college bound kids to act soon if they need help.

The state's grant fund usually runs out by April, according to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.

The agency is hosting nearly 200 events across Illinois this month, encouraging parents to fill out the free forms to register for aid.

A list of the events is posted on the commissions' website.
