Area men sentenced for drug and gun crimes

Two area men were sentenced Thursday to lengthy prison terms for drug and gun crimes.

Robert Ranck of Muscatine will serve ten years and ten months in a Federal prison. Ranck was arrested in April of 2012 for having an illegal firearm, then again later that month for attempting to deliver six pounds of marijuana to a police informant.

Jonathan Morning of Davenport was caught while making a delivery of ten pounds of marijuana. Police later found another 100 pounds of pot in his home.

Morning will serve ten years in prison.
