Download magazines right to your smart phone or tablet

Reading magazines just got easier for members of the Bettendorf Library.

It's introducing a new type of software that allows people to download and read any magazine right on their computer, tablet, iPhone or android.

It's called Zinion and it's free with your Bettendorf library membership.

Organizers say what sets Zinion apart from other apps is it makes the magazines interactive.

You're not just reading a story, you get access to links, pictures, and it's all right there in front of you.

"I generally have my blackberry with me, or I have an iPad with me and you can have a ton of magazines with me, so if I don't feel like reading one, I can just pick up another one and I'll always have a variety of things to read right at my fingertips," says Maria Levetzow, Information Services Manager, Bettendorf Public Library.

Right now, you must be a member of the Bettendorf library to download the magazines online. But organizers say other QC libraries are trying to get it as well.
