We're getting a first look at a major development coming to East Moline.
"This will be the largest single, multi use development in the entire state of Illinois. It will bring about 2,000 jobs, and the value will be about $150 million dollars," said J. Paul Beitler, President of Beitler Real Estate Services, the developer of Fountainhead of the Quad Cities.
Spearheading the project is world renowned architect Helmut Jahn.
The 130 acres of land along the Mississippi, will soon be the new home to a Hyatt hotel, apartment complex, sports arena and park with a band shell.
City leaders said the project will help draw people to the area.
"This could be something that is an attraction to east Moline, to the Illinois side of the river, to the entire Quad Cities. It's something to build upon," said Cole O'Donnel, East Moline City Administrator.
Work will start on the new development this summer.
