Volunteers are making the winter a little easier for Quad City senior citizens.
Today is the first day of Davenport's Snow Angels program.
Volunteers help shovel seniors driveways for free, who can't do it themselves.
Organizers say it's a nice way to lessen the hardship in the cold months.
"We think that's a wonderful way for people in the community to be able to help a neighbor and just sign up and it's an easy way to get through the winter and make it easier on somebody else," says Kim Hatfield, Volunteer Coordinator, Davenport.
If you would like to volunteer, or you need your driveway shoveled, call Davenport Volunteer Connection at 563-888–3200.
