Wednesday morning Iowans are waking up to snowy roadways.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation roadways are partially or completely covered with a mix of snow and ice.
The only areas unaffected are the far southeast and northeast corners of the state.
High winds and more precipitation could also slow travel. The Iowa DOT is reporting winds up to 38mph. Drivers should be careful because this could make it difficult to see.
A winter storm warning will be in effect for most of the state. East central Iowa is now forecast to receive the heaviest snowfall totals of about 5 inches.
Road crews will be working all day until conditions improve.
