If Governor Terry Branstad gets his way, Iowa teachers will soon get their pay.
Branstads' plan calls for $46 million dollars to give stipends to senior teachers who take on more responsibilities like mentoring.
The plan also raises minimum teacher salaries from $28,000 to $35,000.
And another $96 million would go to districts on a per student basis to cover other teacher expenses.
