Seventeen local not for profit organizations, got some much needed money today, thanks to the Bettendorf Rotary Club.

The club handed out a total of $20,000.

The money comes from the Rotary's annual 'Lobsterfest' fundraiser in June.

This is the fifth year the club has given grants to organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Friendly House and the Salvation Army.

Organizers say it's rewarding to give back.

"These people are doing great work and we're just happy to be able to partner with them and help them with their causes, help the people that need it in the Quad Cities," says Jeff Hassel, President, Bettendorf Rotary's Charities Fund.

The Bettendorf Rotary Club is already planning for the next Lobsterfest this June.
