The Clinton City Council voted Tuesday Night to give the Humane Society the money it needs to stay open.
The Humane Society asked the city council for double its yearly budget of $65,000 dollars.
Council members decided to approve the additional funding.
The council also agreed to allow a committee to be formed to look into reducing the Humane Society's overall budget within 90 days, while at the same time reserving the right to discontinue services if an agreement is not reached to lower the group's operating budget.
