IL Lawmakers & Educators Hold Safety Summit

Illinois lawmakers and educators are working together to try and make schools safer.

They hosted a safety summit today in Springfield. Governor Pat Quinn says he wants to prevent something similar to last month's shooting at sandy hook elementary in Connecticut.

Organizers say they hope the summit is a starting point for finding ways to prevent school violence,

While improving emergency preparedness and making sure school buildings are more secure.
