Victims of Superstorm Sandy are getting some much needed help, thanks to your generosity.

It's an update to a story we first brought you last week on CBS4.

Last week, Quad Citians came together to help those still ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.

Members of St. James Lutheran church in Rock Island filled more than 130 buckets with cleaning supplies on back on January 13th.

Those buckets, along with more than 540 jugs of laundry detergent were sent to Staten Island. Organizers drove all week to deliver the goods, and they say the response was overwhelming.

"They said ‘you guys will never know how much this means to the people here in Staten Island,' says organizer Tom Fox. "It's just unbelievable."

The buckets will be distributed by a local church. Organizers here say they plan to make another trip soon.
