Earlier
this month the Clinton County Humane Society officials asked for double their
yearly budget of 65 thousand dollars to stay open.
Tonight
the Clinton City Council is scheduled to make a decision, and there are
options.
One
possibility would be to approve the Humane Society's initial proposal.
Another
would be to create a committee of council members and humane society leaders to
form a new counter proposal.
The
final resolution would be to have a third party called All Pets Mobile Clinic house
animals that are picked up by animal control.
The humane
society's contract is up February 1st, and if no solution is reached the two
groups may go their separate ways.
