Long Grove moves a step closer to bringing an anhydrous ammonia facility to town.
The Scott County board making the first of two votes Thursday, to rezone allowing the hazardous chemical to be stored in the town.
The facility would be used for storage and distribution.
A proceedural second vote will be held in two weeks.
Many residents who live near the site were at the meeting and left disappointed.
"Seemed like it might go that way, but I just do hope that they do make changes or look at traffic in the future to make that intersection safer," said Mike Feldbausch who lives near the site.
The board will vote for the last time January 31st.
