A Davenport man is charged with trying to run down a cop with his car.
Police say Arnoldo Herrera was driving his car in a yard in the 600 block of Douglas Court just before midnight Sunday night.
When Davenport Police arrived, they ordered Herrera to stop his car.
But instead cops say he put the car in gear and drove right toward an officer who had to jump out of the way, to avoid being hit.
"I was on the phone with the lady with the 911 dispatch and I was like Oh My God they just hit the truck," says Jimmy Whitfield, a witness. "They just hit my fence, now they hit the shed an I think they just ran over your officer you should send backup! It was pretty crazy to watch out your closet window at 1 o'clock in the morning."
According to police, Herrera's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
