The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign was a success this holiday season, raising $740,622. The goal had been $725,000.
The money from the campaign accounts for about 60% of the operating budget of the local Salvation Army.
Money raised goes towards providing shelter, food, and clothing for the needy of the Quad Cities.
Major Gary Felton said "The Salvation Army's work is simply not possible without the people of this community who believe in what we do."
