IA budget at a surplus

Iowa lawmakers find themselves in a welcome, all be it unfamiliar, situation when session opens Monday. After years of cutting the budget Iowa now enjoys a one billion dollar surplus.

Governor Terry Branstad will release his budget plans Tuesday and is expected to announce plans to invest in education and cut commercial property taxes.
