He won over the hearts of Quad Citians and even some celebrities. And to most Alleman High Schoolers, he was their hero.  Now sadly, Jordan Schmidt has lost his battle with cancer.

The 15-year-old Alleman sophomore had fought his whole life. He was born with a disorder that causes tumors to grown in his body, and a year ago found out he had an extremely rare form of cancer. A cancer Raven Wyatt says he fought with everything he had.

"He's been fighting a lot of things for as long as I can remember so I just thought that this was one of those things that he was going to get through so I was upset to hear that he couldn't fight it."

Last month Jordan went to Iowa City when a tumor was pushing into his airway.  He passed away there.

According to his friends Jordan packed a lot of life into his 15 years. From being an honorary coach at a high school basketball game, to flying to Hollywood to meet Ellen Degenerous friends say Jordan never let his disease get him down.

Students say the school will have a memorial for Jordan on Monday, no word yet on when services will be.
