A legislative committee has recommended the state of Iowa give $20 million dollars to help continue mental health services this year.
But the Department of Human Services only recommended struggling counties get a little less than $4 million.
No word on why the committee is requesting so much more money, or how it would be distributed.
The committee is overseeing Iowa's re-vamped mental health system, which replaces a county by county process with a regional approach.
