19-year-old Kendra Meaker pleaded guilty today to obstructing justice and endangering the life or health of a child.

But that wasn't the only headline in today's court hearing.

At a custody hearing after the trial, the man who previously said he was the father of Kendra's two daughters, is now asking for a paternity test.

Timothy Thompson said he isn't sure if he is the biological father of Mia Thompson or her sister Mercedes after learning some new information.

Mia was found in a ditch back in September, after her mother claimed the baby was abducted at the post office.

Timothy Thompson and his family talked to the media in November with the two girls.

Back then, he was singing a different tune.

"I just let rumors go by, I mean, I ain't bipartial to any rumors, I just let them go in one ear and out the other," said Thompson back in November.

Today the judge said he would allow the paternity test, but isn't sure if it will have any legal affects.

As for Meaker's parents, the request came as a complete surprise.

They are the temporary guardians of Mia and Mercedes, and said they want nothing but the best for the two girls.

"We're taking each day as it comes, and just doing what we gotta do to get by and taking care of the girls.  That's what matters," said Ken Meaker, Kendra's dad.

The next court date will be a sentencing on March 8.
