Man charged with punching dog

A Rock Island man was charged Wednesday night with animal cruelty after police say he punched his dog.

Police tell CBS4 that Luke Geiger was attempting to discipline his English Bulldog when he struck the animal in the face.

The dog suffered a cut to the chin.

Geiger was taken to the Rock Island County Jail on a charge of Cruel Treatment of Animals and assigned a $1500 bond.
