Arrest made after Augie explosion

UPDATE:

A 19 year old Augustana student was arrested for causing the explosion early Thursday morning.

Brett Johnson was charged with Disorderly Conduct and booked into the Rock Island County Jail.  He later bonded out.

Police say Johnson was the person who threw a homemade explosive device out a window at Westerlin Hall around 3 A.M.

A small explosive goes off at Augustana College this morning.

Police say at about 3:30 a.m., a small MacGyver style explosive device went off just outside Westerlin residence hall.

Rock Island Police say they have several individuals in custody and an investigation is underway.

No one was injured.
