Charges filed for Viola, Sherrard bank robberies

Charges have been filed in two robberies in Mercer County.

DeAngelo Dixon is accused of robbing the Union Federal Savings and Loan in Viola, Illinois on November 8th, 2012, and the First Community Bank in Sherrard, Illinois on December 10th, 2012.

Dixon is also charged with Aggravated Battery for punching a woman after the Sherrard robbery, and Unlawful Restraint for holding another woman against her will in the Viola robbery.

Dixon has an extensive criminal record, and was arrested for robbing a cleaners in Moline in 2010, and a convenience store in Rock Island in 2006.

He is currently in the Stateville Prison serving time for those crimes.
