Food pantry receives $5,000 grant

The Prince of Peace Food Pantry in Davenport received a $5,000 "Lutheran Community Economic Outreach Grant" from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation.

The funding was awarded based on the church's effectiveness in addressing basic needs of the local community.

Prince of Peace Food Pantry is also participating in a two-to-one challenge grant program sponsored by the Foundation. For every dollar raised until March 13, the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation will provide an additional 50 cents (up to $5,000).

Donations can be made here or mailed to the office at Prince of Peace Church Food Pantry at 415 W. 53rd St. Davenport, IA 52806.
