Rock Island has a new deputy chief.
Jason Foy was officially promoted during a ceremony Monday. He was named to the position after previously serving as the department's Administrative Lieutenant.
The Rock Island native says he's excited to take on the new role.
"It's an honor," Foy said. "I grew up here, I went to Rocky, I'm in my 23rd year here and slowly but surely working up the ranks."
Two other Rock Island officers were also promoted at the ceremony.
