One of Illinois' maximum security prisons was put on lock down Friday. Not for a riot but for the flu.
Dozens of guards called in sick yesterday at the Stateville Correctional Center in suburban Chicago.
60 employees called in sick.
A department of corrections spokesperson says more than 100 Stateville prisoners were bed ridden last week with a highly contagious flu.
The absences also took place a day after hundreds of correctional officers rallied in Springfield against possible cuts to their pensions.
