Concealed carry applications spike in December

Conceal and carry applications shot upward last month in on Iowa county.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said nearly 700 applications were submitted last month to carry concealed weapons. That's double the applications during the same month in 2011.

Officials say there's been a steady increase over the past 2 years, but last month saw the biggest spike.
