Many people are setting goals and resolutions for 2013; But how about those ones that were set for 2012?

CBS4 covered last year some of the goals Davenport city leaders set out for themselves.

They say despite tough economic times, they were more than able to meet most of their 2012 goals; goals that included fixing several streets like River Drive and sewer systems too.

Their main goal for 2012 was to bring in new businesses.

Mayor Bill Gluba says that with more than 70 ribbon cuttings in the downtown alone, we can look back and be proud of the progress made in Davenport.

While the city's tax base didn't quite increase by their goal of 2-3%, the mayor says looking forward, things are even more promising in 2013.

"But we see real serious growth coming this year," says Gluba. "We think that there's going to be a lot of action."

The biggest thing mayor Gluba says needs to be done in 2013 is get the ball rolling on a city-owned casino.
